Military Chair is a structured subdivision of the State University of Physical Education and Sport. The chair was created on the basis of the decision of the SUPES Senate from November 2002.
The foundation of the Chair was coordinated with the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova.
The staff of the chair consists of military and civilian personnel that perfectly combine science and military art with patriotic education of the young generation, the values consistently provided by the National Army. The reserve officers that carry out their activity at the chair have an extensive experience in the domain, holding the important positions in the Force Ministries of the Republic of Moldova and having an incontestable value in the evolution and modernization of the military institutions.

The Chair's teachers have high experience at the theaters of military operations in Transnistria. They all contributed to the qualitative training of students, according to the national and international standards of educational system.
The activity of Military Chair is indispensably linked to the didactic activity, that is the basic activity in the training process of the youth and that is realized in the strict compliance with the educational plans, analytical programmes, thematic plans and meetings schedule approved in established way, that determine the theoretical and practical content of the student's military training. The profile of the speciality corresponds to the nomenclature of military specialities approved by the Ministry of Defence, in which is stipulated that the SUPES Military Chair trains the reconnaissance group commanders according to the Order of Defence Ministry nr.262 from 17.09.2004
At the Chair are taught theoretical and practical courses of study on the following disciplines:
General tactics;
Special tactics (reconnaissance troops);
Fire instruction;
Front training;
Technical training;
Sapper training;
Nuclear, biological and chemical defense;
General military regulations;
Military patriotic training and international humanity law;
Medical and military training;
Military topography;
Training in informatics and communications;
Subunit guidance during peacetime (leadership).
Theoretical training of students is performed in the form of lectures, seminars, tests and consultations.
Practical training of students is an activity of particular character, predominantly practically applied and has as an important objective, the training, development and skills maintaining in leadership and perception of group. The practical sessions are performed on the area, at the mock-up, in the classroom with instructional maps. Practical skills are accumulated in the time of preparatory tactical exercises, are consolidated in time of workouts, practical exercises in group and tactical.
The teaching staff of the chair elaborated the guidebooks and other didactic materials, that facilitate the training process of the students.
